Cannot log or change a meal

Date too old

The server refuses meals more than 30 days in the past with Date too old: meal entries cannot be more than 30 days in the past. This applies to new meals and to moving an existing meal to an older day. There is no override. Log it on the oldest allowed day with a note in the title, or leave it; totals for days older than 30 days are closed.

Enter a positive number

The quantity must be above zero. Decimals are fine: 0.5 logs half the serving you picked. A blank field, zero, or a negative number is refused.

No foods found

Search needs at least two characters and looks the term up after you pause typing. If No foods found for your term appears:

  • try a shorter, more generic name (oats rather than a full product name);
  • try the brand on its own;
  • scan the barcode;
  • select Create Custom Food and enter the label.

See Food search finds nothing.

Create Custom Food does not save

A custom food needs a name, one serving with a description, amount, and unit, and calories for that serving. Protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, and sodium can be zero. Create & Log logs it as a snack; change the slot afterwards with Adjust on the dashboard feed. A failed save reads Couldn’t save this food: (reason). Nothing was saved. Afterwards the food appears in search under Your custom foods.

A planned meal will not log

Planned meals come from a scheduled meal plan. If the recipe behind one is no longer available the row reads Recipe details unavailable; this meal can’t be logged. Remove the planned meal from the day and log the food by search instead.

The meal saved but the totals look wrong

Find the meal in the dashboard’s Recent Activity feed and select Adjust. The serving size and quantity are what the totals use; a quantity of 2 with a serving of 100 g is 200 g. Save and the totals update at once. Rows in Today’s Meals can only be deleted, not adjusted.

The meal is on the wrong day

A meal’s date cannot be changed on the web. Delete it and log it again on the right day from the calendar on the Nutrition tab. See Entries show on the wrong day.

Failed to save, your changes were reverted

The change did not reach the server. Reload and try again. If it keeps failing, check the status page and then contact support with the food, the day, and the time you tried.
